Mama Sofi, originally released in 1983 is one of his most melodic and infectious tunes.
As was typical in Kenya at the time, the song was recorded with 45rpm singles in mind, and so the track is split into Parts 1 & 2 on either side of the disc.
Kakai Kilonzo (1954-1987) was one of the leading exponents of benga, Kenya’s guitar-driven uptempo pop music.
